Rock ‘n Roll into 2008!

There's an intriguing story on VeloNews by Neal Rogers about the growing relationship of Rock Racing team owner Michael Ball and Bad Boy Floyd Landis.
According to the story, Rock Racing (a new team I'm not terribly aware of) director sportif Frankie Andreu resigned over "differences in philosophy," Ball is talking with Landis about an unspecified roll with the team, and the team has signed doping-tainted rider Oscar Sevilla and has retained Santiago Botero.

So, welcome to pro cycling 2008!

  1. Rock hit the pro scene last year, making a big splash with its flamboyant jerseys and tricked out Cadillac Escalade team cars.

The team's biggest win came at the CSC Invitational, when Rashaan Bahati beat Toyota-United's Ivan Stevic.

Expect bigger results from the skull-and-crossbones team this year.

  2. Ah -- I remember the Cadillacs from the crit event in Arlington, Va., last May -- the one Sean mentions! I didn't know Rock was going big time.

  3. Will there be any budget left over for feeding the riders after the fuel line item?
