Team Sky, Flying High – 2010 Tour of Qatar Stage 1

A look up and down any start list these days and you will invariably see an emphasis on the word "team." Working cohesively and in unison is as integral to the sport of cycling as it is in any sport, and it is never more apparent than in the discipline of the team time trial.

In today's opening stage of the 2010 Tour of Qatar, an 8.2km Team Trial Trial around Doha's West Bay Lagoon, the newly conceived Team Sky took the honors ahead of the more established Team Garmin-Transitions and Team Saxo Bank, respectively. The victory would launch Edvald Boasson Hagen into the overall race lead, and would serve as a most veracious reply to the recent comments made by Bradley Wiggins' former boss, Jonathan Vaughters, who still seems to be smarting after the Brit's departure.

Stage 1 Results
1. Team Sky
2. Team Garmin-Transitions
3. Team Saxo Bank
