Team Vera Bradley Foundation Kicks Off 2010 Racing Season at San Dimas
San Dimas, CA - The warm Southern California sunshine is the perfect setting for the women of Team Vera Bradley Foundation to begin their racing season. "The San Dimas Stage Race is a great tune-up race for Redlands," stated team director, Lisa Hunt. "The girls are really excited to start racing." The team will have a four-woman squad for San Dimas, with a full 8-rider squad for Redlands.
Racing at San Dimas will be Robin Farina, Lauren Hall, Alexis Rhodes and Alison Testroete (pictured above). Rhodes finished second overall on GC at San Dimas at 2008, winning both the road race and criterium stages. "I'm really looking forward to this race, said Rhodes. "There are a lot of strong teams at this race, but I think we've got a really great squad here and will definitely be going for the win."
The San Dimas Stage Race begins on Friday with the Glendora Chevrolet Mountain Time Trial, a 3.8 mile hill climb. Riders start at 30 second intervals. "It's a stacked field here," said team captain Robin Farina. "Everyone's here to get ready for Redlands. This is going to be a highly competitive race."
