Top Riders from Colavita/Baci Women’s Cycling Team presented by Cooking Light Selected for International Cycling Races

Linden, NJ - Kelly Benjamin, Theresa Cliff-Ryan, Andrea Dvorak, and Carmen Small of the Colavita/Baci Women’s Cycling Team presented by Cooking Light have been selected for major international cycling events in May. Directeur Sportifs Rachel Heal and Tina Pic made the announcement.

Benjamin and Cliff-Ryan will represent the US in the women’s road racing events at the Pan American Road and Track Championships in Aguascalientes, Mexico, which run from May 10-18. A former Pan American Games Champion in lnline Speed Skating, Cliff-Ryan recently swept the USA Crits Speedweek Series, winning four of the seven nearly consecutive criterium races in the Southeast. Cliff-Ryan will also represent the US in the women’s points and scratch races on the track. Benjamin, a former Speedweek Series winner herself, is showing strong results in road racing this season, winning the second stage of the San Dimas Stage Race and taking third in the final stage of the Merco Credit Union Classic.

Dvorak and Small will join the US National Team to race the 10-day Tour de L’Aude in the Aude region of France. Ranked with the Giro d’Italia as one of the top races on the UCI women’s calendar, the Tour de L’Aude is known for its big climbs and steep, narrow descents. Recognized as a tireless rider who gives her all for the team, Dvorak rode with the US National Team earlier this year at the Flanders World Cup, the Ronde van Drenthe World Cup, and the Drentse 8 van Dwingeloo. Small, who currently ranks 7th in USA Cycling’s women’s individual standings, has already achieved two overall wins and six podium finishes this season. Most recently, she won the stage two road race and sprint competition at the SRAM Tour of the Gila, one of the most challenging stage races on the NRC calendar.

Other members of the US National Team include Mara Abbott, #1 in the women’s standings and overall winner of the SRAM Tour of the Gila, and Amber Neben, a two-time winner of the Tour de L’Aude.

Fresh from team victories at the SRAM Tour of the Gila and the USA Crits Speedweek Series, the Colavita/Baci Women’s Cycling Team aims to continue its winning streak at the Joe Martin Stage Race in Fayetteville, AK. The squad will be represented by Kate Bates, Rushlee Buchanan, Shontell Gauthier, Heather Logan-Sprenger, and Modesta Vzesniauskaite along with guest riders Alexandre Carl and Jazzy Hurikino.
