Team Hotel San José Separates From Mellow Johnny’s
Austin, Texas – Team Hotel San José is now "Team Hotel San José presented by Subaru-Gary Fisher" following the withdrawal of Austin-based bicycle shop Mellow Johnny's.
Though a reason for termination of the sponsorship agreement was not provided by Mellow Johnny’s, Team Hotel San José Executive Director Todd Reed said the 18-month relationship was a productive one.
“We are confident that we have been successful in representing the shop and its owners in a professional and positive manner,” Reed said. “We would like to thank and commend everyone involved with the team – from the club riders to our elite racers – for representing Mellow Johnny's so well.”
Reed said Team Hotel San José presented by Subaru-Gary Fisher is working on establishing a new relationship with bicycle shops in Texas and Colorado.
Team Hotel San José presented by Subaru-Gary Fisher experienced a number of successes over the weekend, including top placings at the USA Cycling road championships in Bend, Ore., at the Tour of America’s Dairyland and in regional races in both Texas and Colorado.
“We are also looking forward to having a broad team representation at Superweek as well as having our junior team represent us at the Tour de l'Abitibi stage race in Canada next month,” Reed said.
