Rochelle, Rochelle – 2011 Ladies Tour of Qatar, Stage 1

Fast, talented and fearless, Rochelle Gilmore (Lotto Honda Team) is considered one of best sprinters in today's peloton. But like the mysterious Rochelle, Rochelle, the much talked about but never seen movie of Seinfeld lore, its a mystery as to why the real-life Rochelle has not found the top of podium with more consistency as watching her race is certainly worth the price of admission.

On Stage 1 of the 2011 edition of the Ladies Tour of Qatar, a 104.5km trek from the Camel Race Track to Dukhan, the Australian would break through in a big way by besting Italy's Giorgia Bronzini, a former multiple stage winner at Qatar, and compatriot Chloe Hosking (HTC-Highroad Women) at the line.

"I picked Giorgia's wheel and just gave it everything in the final 100 meters," an ecstatic Gilmore would tell Cyclingnews afterward.

The victory was her first at the Ladies Tour of Qatar, which in its 3rd year has fast become an early season destination.
